Position Statement Revised

Please see ACSLPA’s revised position statement: The Speech-Language Pathologist’s Role in Supporting Capacity Assessments for Adults with Communication Disorders. While the College position on capacity assessments has not changed, there are revisions to the statement to:
  • Provide more context on the legislative background regarding capacity assessments, and
  • Clarify that while SLPs are not designated capacity assessors, they still play an integral role in supporting patients undergoing capacity assessment.

    Disciplinary Decisions & Agreements

The practice of all regulated members must meet the minimum professional requirements outlined in ACSLPA's Key College Documents and as required by the Health Professions Act.

Disciplinary decisions and agreements are published here.

    2024 CCP Update

The audit of CCP submissions from the recent renewal has been completed. Regulated members' whose submissions met requirements have been notified. Interviews for those whose submissions did not meet requirements will begin in May.

Looking for your CCP documents? Once logged into the 'Member Login' area, accessible from ACSLPA's website, you will find your CCP and CCP audit documents in the 'My documents' area.

    Key College Documents

ACSLPA has many inquires about Clinical Documentation and Record Keeping. Some of the main questions in this area are about what needs to be in client files, retention of files, and privacy. Most of the answers can be found in ACSLPA's Clinical Documentation and Record Keeping Guideline and Standard.

We encourage you to take the time to review both the guideline and standard to answer any questions you may have about this issue.

    ACSLPA Updates
