Council Meeting Highlights

ACSLPA Council met for its last meeting of 2024 on Saturday, November 30, in Edmonton. Council:

approved the 2025 Annual Plan & Budget;
revised bylaw 36; and
selected the 2025 President and Vice President.

Lunch and Learn Webinar

Hold the Date: Thursday, January 30

Susan Rafaat, Deputy Registrar, will present a 1-hour lunch and learn to provide an overview of the revised Professional Boundaries Guideline. Please see 'Key College Documents' below for links.

Key College Documents

ACSLPA’s revised Professional Boundaries guideline is now available! This guideline is now an umbrella guideline comprised of three separate sections:

Prevention of Sexual Abuse & Sexual Misconduct: revised to ensure consistency with the terminology of the Health Professions Act and ACSLPA Standards of Practice.

Therapeutic & Professional Boundaries: revised to provide expanded definitions of relevant concepts and more information on how to maintain professional boundaries.
Trauma Informed Service Delivery: a new addition to the guideline, which includes foundational information on trauma as well as information on providing trauma informed care.

Brad Walls was appointed to ACSLPA Council on November 7th by the Minister of Health. ACSLPA is grateful for Brad's commitment to public service and the skills, knowledge, and experience he brings to Council.
