Would you like to gain experience collaborating with professional members on a key decision-making committee for ACSLPA? Interested
in making a contribution to the professions?

ACSLPA is currently seeking a speech-language pathologist to volunteer on the Registration Committee. This is a regulatory committee reporting to Council. The purpose of the committee is to consider applications for registration and renewal in accordance with the Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists Profession Regulation. In particular, the Registration Committee makes determinations of substantially equivalent qualifications for applicants who do not meet our typical requirements. They also provide feedback and recommendations to the Registrar and Council with regard to registration related matters.

Interest and experience with regulatory matters, and specifically professional qualifications/credentialing, is desirable however not required.  A willingness to learn and the ability to weigh multiple factors when reviewing complex applications is essential.

We are looking for a minimum commitment of a 3-year term of office. The committee typically meets virtually 6 times annually, on the second Friday of the month over the noon hour. Additional information is outlined in the attached Terms of Reference. Orientation to the committee and opportunities for mentorship will be provided.

Interested individuals should provide a brief expression of interest and a recent resumé to Susan Rafaat at deputyregistrar@acslpa.ca
by June 7, 2021.
