To practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist or Audiologist in Alberta, individuals must be registered and have a valid Practice Permit from the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologists (ACSLPA). Under the Health Professions Act (HPA), registration is mandatory for all speech-language pathologists and audiologists prior to providing any professional services in the province of Alberta.

For new graduates of Canadian accredited programs (if you have never worked in your field) – A new online application form is currently only available for new graduates of Canadian accredited programs. DO NOT submit an online application if you have already submitted a paper copy. IMPORTANT: In addition to the information requested in the online application form, you must submit separately a current original satisfactory Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check, or equivalent AND a written reference from a speech-language pathologist or audiologist colleague, supervisor, professor or recent employer, please use the ACSLPA Reference Request Form.
