Complete all professional activities as assigned

Comply with ACSLPA and workplace policies, procedures, and standards

Have a plan for getting information you need

For example:

  • some supervisors may not have time for direct teaching or assigning readings:
    • Where can you look it up?
    • Who can you ask for help/discussion?

Maintain open and honest two-way communication with supervisors

Be open to feedback and integrate any feedback from your supervisor in a timely manner

Take initiative, demonstrate independence and motivation for building your own knowledge and skills

Prepare adequately for all clinical activities assigned, meetings, etc.

Consider tools to support your provision of services in English, as needed

For example:

  • spell check and translation software,
  • researching strategies to facilitate listener understanding.
