Yes. If you have a preferred therapist or counsellor, Homewood Health Inc. will provide you with a form to give to your therapist or counsellor. This form will make sure they get paid for their services.
Yes. The funding can only be used to pay for treatment or counselling by a licensed therapist or counsellor, related to matters arising from sexual abuse or sexual misconduct by an Alberta speech-language pathologist or an audiologist.
We recognize that coming forward with a complaint about sexual abuse or sexual misconduct can be very difficult. ACSLPA’s primary objective is to remove the barriers that hinder reporting of sexual abuse and misconduct by creating a safe reporting environment.  ACSLPA cannot perform its mandate in protecting the public and putting a stop to these behaviours if we are unaware of the issues.
