Federal labour mobility legislation includes provisions which remove barriers and simplify the process for professionals who are registered in one regulated jurisdiction to become registered in another. Specifically, a speech-language pathologist or audiologist who is registered in a regulated jurisdiction in Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia) may apply for registration in the same occupation in another regulated jurisdiction without any requirement for any material additional training experience, examinations or assessments as part of the application process. Each regulated jurisdiction may still impose other requirements, related to payment of fees, providing evidence of professional liability insurance, providing evidence of good character, etc.
