ACSLPA Council met on Saturday, June 7.
At their meeting in Edmonton, Council:
- Set 2026 fees and preliminary 2027 fees, see the Fee Schedule;
- Increased ACSLPA’s honorarium rates to align with increased rates for public members of ACSLPA’s Council, committees and hearing tribunals that were announced by the Government of Alberta in April;
- Approved the 2024 Annual Report;
- Updated Bylaw 8;
- Added a purpose to the Continuing Competence Program (CCP) Manual and updated the accommodations section of the manual;
- Approved a new Self-Evaluation Tool to Measure Council Effectiveness; and
- Conducted regular Council business:
- Received and accepted regular accountability & oversight reporting: Financial update and management report; annual plan status update; professional conduct report; risk register report; and an update on the 2024 Nominations Committee’s Work Plan;
- Made appointments to the Membership List and Council Committees;
- Designated a 2025 chair for the Nominations Committee;
- Approved the Nominations Committee’s 2025 Work Plan;
- Rescinded Finance policies that are no longer needed;
- Revised a Governance policy; and
- Received updates from ACSLPA’s Registrar/CEO on recent and emerging issues, including the regulation of over-the-counter hearings aids.
